Frequently Asked Questions

Family is the most basic unit of society and the foundation of every person’s well-being, character, and success. Women provide irreplaceable leadership, possessing unique strengths and values that allow them to fill crucial family and community roles. This stream embodies our commitment to nurturing women’s leadership that advances family-based solutions to peacebuilding and development. It encourages projects that focus on strengthening the basics of healthy, strong, and flourishing families that can contribute to and create thriving communities. Included in the areas that can be addressed in this stream are:

1.1 Life and Relationship Skill Education – The foundations for a meaningful life come from making choices that strengthen our values and relationships. We are excited to see projects that help individuals and families strengthen these capacities to unlock their agency and make positive changes in their families and communities.

1.2 Entrepreneurship and Livelihood – We understand that economic foundations are essential for families to thrive. We also acknowledge that families are powerful consumers and producers. We are seeking projects that equip families to be value-producing, resilient, and fiscally responsible participants in local economies who can navigate through any circumstance, transform challenges into opportunities, and create economic foundations for the well-being of their families and communities.

1.3 Health, Nutrition, and WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) – The family is the first place for personalized care and nurture. In this way, we seek projects that engage the family in improving basic physical and mental health, nutrition, clean water, sanitation and hygiene through awareness, education and innovation.

This stream is dedicated to harnessing the strength of the family as the agents of peacebuilding and community development. This stream seeks to support projects highlighting the transformative impact of family volunteering.

The SFV (Sunshine Family Volunteers) initiative recognizes the power of each family to sow the seeds of peace. It serves as a platform that empowers families of peacebuilding agents, fosters deeper relationships, and nurtures a sense of responsibility within households. Families become seeds of harmony through their actions, contributing to more cohesive and peaceful communities and the world.

This stream offers a unique opportunity for like-minded women to connect, collaborate, and amplify their impact, which is dedicated to advancing family-based models of peacebuilding and development. This stream seeks to support efforts through shared knowledge and resources and strengthen our network of women and families and women dedicated to peacebuilding.
