This topic was suggested by Anu, “surrogate/extended family.” Urie Bronfenbrenner created the Ecological Systems Theory. His theory places the well-being on an individual in concentric circles starting from the micro system that includes family and extended family. Other role models from the mesosystem, good adult role models that can play similar influence of those in the micro system, like a positive male role model for a fatherless youth. While blood family may not always be an option, there is a depth of connection that can be created that can have similar positive effects on an individual.
