“A random act of kindness, no matter how small, can make a tremendous impact on someone else's life.” ― Roy T. Bennett, The Light in the Heart
The United Nations estimates that there are more than 4.6 million Ukrainian refugees since the Russian invasion on February 24. The surge in refugees is causing a toll in the neighboring countries and the displaced families face struggles ranging from accommodation, food, and shelter to fear, worry, and anxiety.
In support of the people of Ukraine, Global Peace Women in Japan partnered with Association for Aid and Refugees (ARR), Doing Good Together, and Wish to initiate a project the ‘Giving Box Project’.
Participating families are collecting funds through ‘Giving Box Project’ for emergency assistance to the Ukrainian refugee families – food and daily necessities for families. Families are encouraged to take small, daily actions to save and collect donations to support Ukrainian refugees.
Families are taking action through four small steps:
1. Making a a family giving box.
2. Download the development map.
3. Saving and collecting through the project period.
4. Donate the collections.
Times of challenge call for global support and solidarity. Global Peace Women Japan is standing together to send their love and support to families of Ukraine. Join us as a family in the ‘Giving Box Project’ and support a noble cause. If you want are interested and want to be a part of the effort, please reach out to info@wishjapan.org
