Women possess powerful innate traits that make them capable of taking up leadership roles at any level, be it in their families, communities, corporate boardrooms, and even top government positions. Among these traits are intelligence, compassion, empathy, creativity, integrity, and organization skills that crucially help them to get the job done. In addition, women have in recent decades made an intentional effort to attain and advance their education levels, thus helping them to advance in leadership roles.
In March 2023, Global Peace Women (GPW) Nepal partnered with Global Peace Foundation Nepal and hosted an orientation on “Moral and Innovative Leadership” for 20 socio-political women leaders. The workshop aimed at developing the women’s capacity to become innovative in their leadership roles in their different areas of influence. The focus of the training was on empowering women leaders to become service-minded, moral, and innovative leaders, equipping them with knowledge on how they could use the Global Peace Values Framework in their daily lives.
The Global Peace Values Framework describes core values that allow people to develop into responsible, virtuous global citizens and leaders. Among these values are Living for the Greater Good, Dream Big, Ownership, and Teamwork.
Participants discussed leadership in Nepal and presented community challenges and potential solutions using a values-based and innovative approach. They shared their insights and next steps, committing to putting their learning into action to positively impact their communities. We look forward to seeing the waves these phenomenal women will make in their different arenas.
At GPW, we support women to take active roles in peacebuilding and development in their homes, communities, and worldwide. Through the Global Peace Women Leadership Academy (GPWLA), women are provided with training and resources to build moral and innovative leadership values and strategies.
