“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” - Helen Keller
It is essential for families to have stability in all aspects. However, there are families who have been impacted hardly by poverty, inequality, and the pandemic. Every month, Global Peace Women and Global Peace Foundation Paraguay invest in ‘Solidarity Hands,’ monthly efforts to support vulnerable families with donations, supplies, and necessary support.
During the pandemic, the ‘Solidarity Hands’ program reached out to families who were hard hit by the Covid in the neighborhoods like San Antonio and Mariano Roque Alonso. Residents are mostly garbage recyclers near the Asunción Botanical Park, and Mariano Roque Alonso. With precarious socioeconomic conditions, these families face many challenges. Among them is Mrs. Lucia López, a mother of 8 children. “Thank you. Your help has made our living easier,” Mrs. Lopez thanked GPF and GPW. GPW’s monthly efforts provided food, clothing, basic sanitation supplies, pots and household appliances such as washing machines, and refrigerators.
Global Peace Women affirms that “Peace Begins in the Home.” acknowleding the power of families to create a peaceful and stable world. GPW and GPF look forward to strengthening family capacity and helping families in need through different measures.
