Mental Health is a growing concern in today’s fast-paced digital world, especially for children and students. The Children’s Society reports a 50%increase in the likelihood of young people having mental health problems in the last three years. It is, thus, essential to promote healthy mental health care habits and boost overall health.
In February, GPW Philippines conducted a webinar promoting mental health in schools. The webinar ‘Be Kind to Yourself ’ is a part of the Mid-YearIn-Service Training of Rosario Ocampo Elementary School at Taytay Rizal. Two hundred forty-two participants joined the session and learned about mental health, its importance, and ways to promote it.
Marivic R. Leaño, Director of the Department of Education Central Office, and Ms. Kate F. Martinfrom Valenzuela spoke at the webinar, imparting tips and tricks on building positive mental health. The webinar targeted students, parents, and teacher salike to foster a positive and supportive environment.
