Life’s most pertinent and urgent question is, “what are you doing for others?” - Martin Luther King Jr.
Community Service helps empower communities to serve and grow together. In April, GPW Philippines collaborated with the Rotary Club of Mutya ng Pasig, IWC Antipolo Central and civic organizations for an community outreach project, ‘Care and Share’ to help vulnerable families of the indigenous Dumagat community. The project reached 150 families at Mt. Puurro, Calawis, Antipolo with basic necessities such as food packs, vitamins, medicines and other giveaways.
The team, motivated by the project committed to further help the community and brainstormed ideas for their growth. RC MUtya ng Pasig and IWC Antipolo Central introduced livelihood projects and proposed the Lazada E-Market for the Dumagat Tribe to sell their produce and earn a living.
The project helped create a connection between communities to join hands for service and take one step closer to empowering the Dumagat society for sustainable development. GPW Philippines hopes to continue empowering families and communities with their service and outreach projects.
