Community members receive the aid and relief materials.

When the Super Typhoon Rai/Odette hit Phillippines on 16 December 2022 , Global Peace Women and Global Peace Foundation joined hands together for a disaster relief program, “Operation Karunungan”. The typhoon displaced 21,000 people and damaged nearly 2.1 million houses according to the latest government reports.

The disaster relief operations were conducted in the Burgos Siargao region, where most houses and communities were destroyed by the typhoon.

Through the collective efforts of the various civic organizations and partners, the team visited many areas and reached the residents and community partners with food packs, water purifiers, solar lamps, hygiene kits, and vitamins.

Volunteers from Metro Bhutan Eagles Club also helped in the operation from packing to distributing and managing different activities.
