GPW Tanzania conducted a series of programs to raise awareness and increase collaboration among community members and stakeholders to take ownership of the environment.
In the World Environment Day celebrated on June 5, GPW Tanzania in collaboration with Global Peace Foundation Tanzania and Meridian Bet organized a cleanup in the Tandale market of Tandale Market of the Kinondoni district in the Dar es Salaam. The cleanup raised awareness to take ownership of the community and inspired locals and community members to be carers of the environment.
GPW Tanzania also teamed up with environmental stakeholders in a tree and fruit planting exercise ath the Tall High School which is set to be launched in August, 2021. The program is a part of promoting cooperation between stakeholders, government and citizens for being active agents of change and care for the environment. The exercise was conducted in collaboration with the local government of Mbezi Beach under Hon. Chairperson Ms. Aisha Voniatis, Councilor Muta Rwakatale and stakeholders.
