On September 21, Global Peace Women (GPW) Tanzania collaborated with Global Peace Foundation (GPF) and other stakeholders to commemorate the International Day of Peace 2023 under the theme of "Youth Agents of Peace: Ensuring Sustainable Development”.
The event, which was held at the Sheikh Idriss Abdulwakil Conference Hall in Kikwajuni, Zanzibar brought together important peace stakeholders, including high-level Government officials, religious leaders, parents and caregivers, traditional leaders, in and out-of-school youths, media houses, international and local NGOs/CSOs. The event included a series of activities that happened both in Zanziar and Mainland Tanzania including a press conference ahead of the main commemoration events, school outreaches, Mangrove Tree Planting at the coast of the Indian Ocean in Zanzibar to preserve the ocean environment, Zanzibar Safaris Beach Diving with several peace day messages:

- Youth agents of peace for sustainable development
- Women's inclusion in peacebuilding processes
- Let's build peace together
The day culminated with a conference, the main event with the Minister of State President's Office, Ministry of Labour, Economy and Investment, Zanzibar, Hon. Mudrick Ramadhan Soraga, as the guest of honor.
