On a beautiful day of 24th April 2021, Aisha Garangi who lives in SMC quarters of Ungwan Dosa, Nigeria, spread her love to the neighborhood by sharing food with two families in need. Have you ever had such a thought or desire towards people who are vulnerable in your respective communities? Family Volunteer Projects have got you sorted!
Aisha Garangi, who lives with her mother, introduced the FVP Initiative to her family. They contributed money for purchase of food items, she visited the beneficiary families to inform them on their intended visit and she went shopping for the food item.
The family then visited the two families and donated food items. Khadija (Mother to Aisha) contributed money for the purchase of food items and went to visit families two for distribution. Two other members of the family who live in another state i.e Amina (daughter) and Babagana (son in law) also contributed money and nominated a beneficiary but they were not part of the distribution task.
Aisha and Khadija both said that the joy and gratitude in the faces of the families they visited and donated food items made them very happy and fulfilled. They had a good family time planning for the project and visiting families to distribute the food items.
“Love only grows through sharing.” This is a belief that Aisha and her family treasure. Family Volunteers for Peace gave Aisha’s family a chance to grow their love as they shared with neighboring families. They intend to continue to visit families that need help.
They hope to have their next project when more family members are present to experience the joy and fulfillment of sharing. And more importantly, they encourage other families to get involved in the family volunteer for peace initiative. Bravo Aisha Garangi.
