The Global Peacebuilders Share Skills

The Global Peacebuilders Practicum Nepal, organized through a joint effort of Global Peace Women Nepal, Global Peace Foundation Nepal, and funded in part by the Rotary Club of Mercer Island and the Rotary Club of Bhadgaon, encouraged young and rising professionals to share their skills through ongoing webinars and virtual engagements. 

The Global Peacebuilders is a seven months long leadership program for youths to develop their leadership through learning, engaging, and creating a positive impact in their community promoting peace and service. Here are some of their offerings:

The over 20 peacebuilder fellows were required to contribute one session each on either professional capacity building, service, and or self-care. Peacebuilders fellows have actively taken initiative in the skills-sharing sessions. 

Ms.Anushree Acharya, a clinical dietician, hosted a Self-care session on healthy eating habits was conducted by. Participants learned about maintaining a healthy immunity-boosting diet and nutrition during the pandemic. On the mental health front, three sessions were held. Dr.Narendra Singh Thagunna, a Consultant Psychologist, facilitated sessions on mental health wellbeing; Sanju Baral, a scholar of City of Ten Thousand Buddhas, gave sessions on emotional management; and Bidur Phuyal, a Yoga Master and Motivator gave tips on stress management during this pandemic. 

Tika Dahal who is the founder/Chairperson of Nepal Disabled Women Association, encouraged peacebuilders to promote youth advocacy. 

Shristika Bajracharya, a paralegal and a fellow in the program gave an awareness session on sexual harassment. She shed light on the issue of harassment, the legal provision against it, and creating a safe space for everyone. 

The Global Peacebuilders started in April 2021 and concluded in November.
