GPW Track Description
The world is going through a period of unprecedented challenge. The pandemic has turned traditional structures of commerce, education, and social connection upside down, while long-standing conflicts and problems persist. The women’s track of the 2021 Global Peace Convention will highlight the heroic efforts of women and families who have selflessly served their communities with profound compassion and care. This time has allowed the best of women to shine and has drawn our focus back to the family as the most basic social unit and foundation for peace and well-being. Drawing from our collective women’s strength and lessons learned, we hope to spark transformation that brings healing, hope and a future bright with possibilities for every individual, family and the world.
Plenary
Women have been through a shared experience that has underscored the central role of service-minded women and families as the cornerstone of peace and sustainable development. The plenary will convene prominent women leaders of Global Peace Women to address how service-minded women leaders can spark transformation during these unprecedented times with courage and compassion to advance peace at home and the world. Join us as we reaffirm our commitment to each other and the dream of a world that recognizes and upholds the innate value of every individual, woman and family.
Best Practices Showcase
Join these dynamic and interactive sessions that will connect service-minded women from diverse fields of peacebuilding and development. Women, young professionals, leaders in the public and private sectors, educators, journalists and civic activists will facilitate dialogue on specific issue-based fields like gender based violence prevention, girl education, gang and drug abuse prevention, livelihood development, peacebuilding, health and well-being in the family, and women engagement in local decision making. Breakout sessions will encourage active discussion and sharing of best practices, experiences and lessons to strengthen our powerful women network and spark inspiration and innovation that can enable women to contribute to a brighter future for the world.
