The Global Peace Leadership Exchange, organized by the Global Peace Foundation (GPF), was held from November 18 to 23, 2024, in Tokyo, Japan. The event brought together women leaders from the Philippines and Japan to enhance collaboration and advance peacebuilding efforts.
The program focused on fostering cross-cultural understanding and leadership development. Delegates engaged in discussions on shared challenges such as gender equality, community development, and sustainable peace. The exchange served as a platform for participants to share best practices and explore joint projects that align with the vision of “One Family under God.”
The delegation from the Philippines included Leonard Faustino, Executive Director of GPF Philippines, and Dr. Nona Ricafort, President of GPW Philippines, among other women leaders from various sectors, reflecting their commitment to peacebuilding at both the grassroots and national levels. They collaborated with Japanese leaders, fostering stronger ties and mutual understanding between the two nations. Key components of the exchange included forums, interactive discussions, cultural exchanges, and site visits. These highlighted innovative solutions to social challenges and emphasized the vital role of women as drivers of peace and development in their communities.
