GPW Uruguay held a video campaign to commemorate International Women’s Day 2021. Women from around Uruguay submitted video messages on GPW Uruguay’s Facebook page. Mothers, grandmothers, wives, professionals and civic leaders, all peacemakers, celebrated the progress that has allowed women to contribute in wider arenas, while recognizing the important work ahead. They determined to continue working towards a world where the unique and important qualities of women that women bring to building families, societies, and nations of peace can shine.
Director for Latin America of Global Peace Women. Mrs. Cristina Field, for International Women’s Day kicked off the campaign with her best wishes, recognizing the crucial work of GPW and partners.
President of GPW Uruguay Nibia Pizza said, “Nations need us…We are a fundamental part of the universe.”
