On March 8, 2025, women leaders and organizations across the Philippines came together at the YWCA FFPI Building in Manila to celebrate International Women’s Day under the theme, “Global Pathways to Women Empowerment: Transforming Societies Together for Global Peace.” The event was a powerful testament to collaboration, with twelve prominent women’s groups uniting to champion peace, equality, and progress. Highlights included the recognition of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo for her leadership in economic and women’s empowerment, and a keynote by Global Peace Foundation’s Ingill Ra, who emphasized the role of women in promoting peace, especially in divided societies. Through inspiring speeches and impactful plenaries on political participation, economic development, and digital inclusion, the gathering reinforced that empowered women are key to building peaceful and inclusive communities.
